Manager for Bible Translation, he is responsible for the Middle East, North Africa, Pakistan, and Afghanistan regions. His every spare moment from his ministry work is spent in and around pilots and airplanes at the Ocean Alex Agha-Khan began his flying adventures in the late 70’s in Pakistan. A neighbor friend invited him to explore free glider lessons at the local flying club. He fell in love with flying from his very first five-minute glider flight experience. He completed the training and got his glider pilot’s license. This gave him a spark of a real desire to soar in powered small single-engine airplanes. In 1980, he completed the 40-hour training program in a Cessna 152 and received his private pilot’s license in Pakistan. In 1982, he moved to the US where he joined the U.S. Army. While stationed at Ft. Richardson, Alaska, he continued his Private and Instrument Pilot’s training in the mid 80’s and received the FAA’s Private and Instrument certificates. At the flying clubs on the two military bases and at the local Civil Air Patrol in Alaska, he got rated and flew many different small single engine airplanes in the late ‘80s. He has flown:

The responsibility of becoming a father in 1992 and coming to faith in Christ in 1997, Alex took a hiatus from flying for twenty-eight years. In the fall of 2020, skies were calling him back, and he once again renewed his flight currency after 28 years, joined an EAA chapter in New Phili, Oh and bought a share in a C-172 (1962). In June of 2022, he bought his partnersout and moved with his airplane to Ocean Isle Beach airport. He is now an excited member of the Ocean Isle Beach Pilot’s Association and is honored to serv as its President. He is a full-time Missionary associated with a Bible Translation Ministry called unfoldingWord. I am 22 years old and have a strong passion for aviation. My end goal is to join the force of less than 150 black female airline pilots. Currently I am working on my ground school (Kings) to complete my written exam for my PPL and plan to start flight lessons at Blueline Aviation early next year. I’ve been very blessed to have such support and help from all the amazing pilots at OIB and look forward to building more connections. In my free time, you can find me rollerskating or outside somewhere enjoying nature.
I am semi-retired and living in Ocean Isle Beach, NC, after serving 37 years in the Army and Army National Guard as an active-duty soldier and Aviator. I have served as an instructor pilot, Standardization Instructor Pilot, Maintenance Test Pilot in both Helicopters and Airplanes. I was also an Instrument flight Examiner and the Army Fixed Wing School Standardization Instructor Pilot. I have over 10,500 flight hours in both airplanes and helicopters. In my last assignment I was the detachment commander for over 10 years deploying to Iraq and Afghanistan numerous times.
I am a FAA Certified Flight Instructor in Airplanes, Single and Multi-Engine, and an Instrument Instructor. I was also a maintenance test pilot in Army Airplanes and Helicopters.
I am also a FAA dual rated aviator with airplane and helicopter ratings. My Pilot Certificates include, Airline Transport Pilot, Commercial Pilot, Instrument Pilot, Certified Flight Instructor SEL, MEL, Instrument Pilot, Helicopter Commercial and Instrument Pilot.
I am qualified in the following military fixed and rotary wing aircraft, C-23B, C-12C,D,F, U-21A, RU-21H, UH-1H,OH-58A/C, TH-55. I am type rated in the C-23B, SH-33 Army Transport Plane. I also fly the PA-31-350 Navajo, BE-58 Baron, C-172, C-150, PA-28-181, T206H, and the R-44 Helicopter.
I am currently serving as the safety officer for the Ocean Isle Beach Pilot Association. My major duty is to present classes on aviation subjects to increase awareness in order to enhancesafety.
I am the Treasurer for the Association and I have been a member since 2019. I split time between Holden Beach, Lake Lure and Charlotte often using my Grumman Tiger to travel between those locations. I'm is a prolific dog rescue pilot and I've flown over 40 missions rescuing nearly 100 dogs from as far as Florida and West Virginia.
